The Tune-Up Micro Classes are hands-on sessions where you bring your own tools and work on them with our experts backing you up. You'll learn how each tool is meant to work, the sharpening techniques for diamond stones and the Tormek system, and how to get the most out of the workshop's machines. Our team answers your questions, sharpens your technique and acts as your fine-woodworking reference throughout the session.
How you're going to do it.
Here's how a tune-up session works, from the diagnosis to walking out with your tools ready for action.
You go over the state of each tool with the team and plan together what needs attention first before getting started.
You adjust the geometry, cutting angle and mechanisms of each tool with guidance from our experts.
You learn the progressive sharpening technique with different grits of diamond stone until you achieve a precise, long-lasting edge.
You use the Tormek system for tools with complex profiles, with a controlled angle and a consistent, repeatable result.
You learn to store and maintain your tools properly so the edge lasts far longer between sessions.

What experience do I need?
This session is designed for woodworkers who already know their tools and want to learn how to maintain and tune them properly.
What should I bring?
Bring every tool you'd like to tune up: hand planes, chisels, gouges or any cutting tool you use regularly.
How long does the session last?
It's a flexible micro class whose length adapts to the number of tools and each student's specific needs.
What will I take away?
You'll leave with your tools sharpened and tuned, and with the know-how to keep them that way at home with confidence.

Cancellation & date-change policy
If you cancel
- More than 7 days before: 100% refund.
- Between 7 days and 24 h before: 50% refund.
- Less than 24 h before: no refund.
This reflects the time we need to find another student to fill the place.
If Made de Madera cancels
If we have to cancel the course, we refund you 100%. A course may be cancelled if it doesn't reach the minimum of 3 students enrolled.
Date changes
- More than 15 days before: no penalty.
- Within the 15 days before: 50 € penalty.
When you book, we hold your place; a last-minute change makes it harder to fill.
