Build your own solid wood bench, demountable and ready to take home, learning the essential fine-woodworking techniques from start to finish.

Over 8 hours you'll learn to prepare the wood, size the pieces, cut the joinery with router and glued tenons, and apply the final finish. The bench is demountable, so you can transport it easily and reassemble it at home. We usually work with fresno europeo (European ash), though this can vary with availability.
How you're going to do it.
One day, six key techniques: this is how you go from rough timber to a bench that lasts a lifetime.
You use the jointer and the thicknesser to get faces that are flat, parallel and ready to work with.
You learn how to choose the right wood for the project and understand how it affects the durability of the result.
You cut each piece to the exact size on the panel saw, achieving square angles and precise lengths.
You cut the joints with the router for perfectly aligned, strong connections.
You fit tenons and glue up the pieces to get a solid structure, keeping pressure and alignment under control.
You sand the surface through several grits and apply the final finish so your bench is protected and looks the business.

No experience needed
You don't need any woodworking knowledge; our instructors walk you through every step across the three afternoons.
What does the price include?
All the wood, materials and personal protective equipment (PPE) are included; you just need to come in comfortable clothes.
When do we work?
The course is spread across 8 hours, a comfortable pace that lets you absorb each technique before moving on to the next.
Is the bench sturdy?
It is indeed: a solid wood piece with glued mortise-and-tenon joinery — and it's demountable, so it's easy to transport too.

Cancellation & date-change policy
If you cancel
- More than 7 days before: 100% refund.
- Between 7 days and 24 h before: 50% refund.
- Less than 24 h before: no refund.
This reflects the time we need to find another student to fill the place.
If Made de Madera cancels
If we have to cancel the course, we refund you 100%. A course may be cancelled if it doesn't reach the minimum of 3 students enrolled.
Date changes
- More than 15 days before: no penalty.
- Within the 15 days before: 50 € penalty.
When you book, we hold your place; a last-minute change makes it harder to fill.
