Stool Course
Picture arriving in the morning having never held a gouge, and leaving in the afternoon with a solid-wood stool under your arm, made with your own hands. This course was born for exactly that: a real first encounter with woodworking, with no prior knowledge and no fear of mistakes.
A solid stool, from start to finish.
You build a stool with turned legs in solid beech: you learn to prepare the wood, shape the legs, fit the seat and apply a hand finish. A piece that looks simple, yet brings together the fundamentals of the craft.
How you'll do it.
Six guided steps, from rough timber to the final finish.
We select and prepare the beech: squaring, planing and choosing the show faces.
Marking out, cutting and shaping the three legs, with their splay angles.
Gluing up the seat panel, rounding it off and marking out the sockets for the legs.
Fitting the legs to the seat with their joint, checking they stand plumb and firm.
Levelling the legs so the stool sits perfectly, with no wobble.
Progressive sanding and a hand-applied finish that protects the wood.

Cancellation & date-change policy
If you cancel
- More than 7 days before: 100% refund.
- Between 7 days and 24 h before: 50% refund.
- Less than 24 h before: no refund.
This reflects the time we need to find another student to fill the place.
If Made de Madera cancels
If we have to cancel the course, we refund you 100%. A course may be cancelled if it doesn't reach the minimum of 3 students enrolled.
Date changes
- More than 15 days before: no penalty.
- Within the 15 days before: 50 € penalty.
When you book, we hold your place; a last-minute change makes it harder to fill.
