In three hours you'll learn everything you need to work the lathe safely and independently at Made de Madera. You'll master the basics of safety, the use of gouges and accessories, simple sharpening, mounting pieces, and your first cuts and hollowing. By the end you'll be able to activate your lathe membership and start developing your own projects, surrounded by a passionate community.
How you'll do it.
The course covers everything you need to start safely, step by step:
You learn the essential rules of the lathe and the Rincón del Torno so you can work risk-free from day one.
You get to know the space's gouges, chucks and accessories, understand what each one is for and how to handle them correctly.
You learn to mount the wood on the lathe so it's stable and balanced before it starts to spin.
You make your first cutting and hollowing moves and discover how the wood responds as it spins between your hands.
We go over how the space works so you can operate with full independence and respect for the shared environment.

Do I need experience?
None; this course is the starting point, designed for people who want to discover the lathe from scratch.
What does the price include?
Use of the lathe and all the tools you'll need during the session, plus the certification to activate your lathe membership.
What happens afterwards?
Once you complete the course you can join the lathe memberships and develop your own projects independently in the space.
Is there more training available?
Yes — we regularly run weekend intensives with guest professional woodturners for anyone who wants to go deeper and speed up their learning.

Cancellation & date-change policy
If you cancel
- More than 7 days before: 100% refund.
- Between 7 days and 24 h before: 50% refund.
- Less than 24 h before: no refund.
This reflects the time we need to find another student to fill the place.
If Made de Madera cancels
If we have to cancel the course, we refund you 100%. A course may be cancelled if it doesn't reach the minimum of 3 students enrolled.
Date changes
- More than 15 days before: no penalty.
- Within the 15 days before: 50 € penalty.
When you book, we hold your place; a last-minute change makes it harder to fill.
