A serving board made by you, from start to finish.
You'll start from rough solid timber and, guided by our teachers, transform it into a serving board with two elegant feet. You'll learn to use the workshop's fundamental machines — jointer, thicknesser, panel saw and sander — and take home a piece that's both useful and beautiful. You don't need to know a thing about woodworking to come; just the urge to make something.
How you'll do it.
This is how you'll build your board step by step, from rough timber to the final finish.
We start by selecting and getting to know the wood you'll work with throughout the course.
You'll use the jointer and the thicknesser to get perfectly flat faces and an even thickness.
With the panel saw you'll cut the board to its final dimensions, getting precise right angles.
You'll prepare and glue on the two feet that give the piece stability and elegance.
You'll run the sander over it for a completely smooth surface, ready for the finish.
You'll apply a protective finish that brings out the wood's natural grain and leaves the piece ready to use.

If you cancel
- More than 7 days before: 100% refund.
- Between 7 days and 24 h before: 50% refund.
- Less than 24 h before: no refund.
This reflects the time we need to find another student to fill the place.
If Made de Madera cancels
If we have to cancel the course, we refund you 100%. A course may be cancelled if it doesn't reach the minimum of 3 students enrolled.
Date changes
- More than 15 days before: no penalty.
- Within the 15 days before: 50 € penalty.
When you book, we hold your place; a last-minute change makes it harder to fill.
