Stool with Woven Seat (Danish Cord)
Build a solid oak stool and weave its seat yourself with Danish cord, combining traditional woodworking and textile craft in a single intensive day.
A stool woven with your own hands.
You'll start from a set of solid oak components that you'll glue up and finish in oil. While it dries, you'll learn the full construction process and, in a small group, build another stool from scratch. The last part of the day is for weaving the seat with Danish cord, a craft technique that demands concentration and rewards you with a one-of-a-kind piece.

How you'll do it.
In one full day you'll cover the whole process: structure, finish and weaving the seat.
You receive and get to know the solid oak pieces that will form your stool, understanding the logic of the assembly before you begin.
You glue the pieces and clamp them up, learning how to achieve firm, square joints.
You apply the oil finish while the other pieces set, discovering how to protect and enhance natural oak.
In groups of 3 or 4 you build another complete stool to understand every phase of the process hands-on.
You learn the traditional methods and materials for weaving the seat with precision and the patience this craft deserves.
You adjust the tension of the weave and check the whole piece so your stool is perfect and ready to take home.
